The year 2011 was a great year for anime, with titles like Mirai Nikki and Fate/Zero. But in my opinion, the best anime from that year was this time-travel based story. 

Steins; Gate is one of the best time-travel fiction I know of. It also provides an amazing visual representation of the Akihabara district of Tokyo, which is lifeless but ever moving. 

The laws of time-travel and several facts can be found in real life(like CERN), which makes it even more interesting.

A modern classic, Steins; Gate is a must watch. It is also getting a sequel called Steins; Gate: Zero which will be released later this year.

#3. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Don't believe in the you that believes in me and don't believe in the me that believes in you. Believe in the you that believes in yourself.

The most powerful man ever, one who can end an army of monsters just by punching each of them once. His real name is Saitama, a guy who is hero for the fun of it.

Ranked B and lower until now, he has been one of those vigilante who can punch anyone's ass without breaking a sweat. And this is not a curse, its his own power and that is due to "RIGOROUS" training and workout he did for 4 years everyday.

This Anime is full of action, comedy, sarcasm and of course punches.
