There are some places in the world where people who love you won't be allowing you to visit. Yes such places do exist. Somethings or someone is there that may make you rethink your decision of visiting there.

There are lot of irrational happenings that nobody can explain. Be it the sighting of an UFO or a person claiming or appearing to have come from future. Well, nobody knows for sure how advanced the world may be.

Most of the people in the world do believe in God and also in Satan. Also if there is a good doer in the world, it's opposite evil doer is bound to be present.

There are many evil happenings, eerie events and horrifying stories of people visiting some particular places. So here we are counting down on our list of Top 10 Most Haunted Places In The World.

If you're scared from dark, you've been warned never to lurk at these places, now buckle up as we're diving straight to the list.

#10. Aaokigahara Forest, Japan

Aokigahara forest is located on the northwest flank of Mount Fuji in Japan and is the second most popular place for suicide after the Golden Gate Bridge. 

Statistics vary but an average of 105 documented suicides occur in the forest each year and its so bad that there now signs outside the forest urging people to contact a suicide prevention association. 

Authorities regularly do walk-throughs of the forest to remove corpses, but there are also bandits hoping to loot the bodies before they are removed. 

Visitors are advised to stay out of Aokigahara forest because its easy to get lost, fall into deep holes covered by leaves and because the forest is said to be haunted by the ghosts of those who have killed themselves within its trees.

The latest it was in the news due to Logan Paul Controversy.

#9. Waverly Hills Sanitarium, Colorado

Waverly Hills Sanitarium is a closed Sanitarium located in Jefferson County, Kentucky and opened in 1910 to accommodate tuberculosis patients. 

Tuberculosis also called “the white plague” had a very high death rate until better treatment became available and its estimated that about 64,000 people died inside Waverly Hills Sanitarium. 

Today the Sanitarium is said to be haunted by the ghosts of deceased patients including the ghost of a young boy named Timmy who likes playing around with toy balls given to him by visitors. 

To dispose of dead bodies the Sanitarium also used a secret underground tunnel leading to a nearby train station and you wouldn't want to be waiting around the railway when a body was being delivered.

Helltown is an area in Boston Township, Summit County, Ohio and local legends associate the place with Satanists and hauntings. 

The steep Stanford road drop off, immediately followed by a dead end, is aptly named the end of the world and if you get stuck there for too long then ghost stories claim that you will meet your end at the hands of an endless parade of freaks including Satanists, Ku Klux Klan members, an escaped mental patient, a giant snake and mutants caused by an alleged chemical spill. 

Sounds like a very scary place indeed.

The eeriness of the Bhangarh Fort has put this fort from the Alwar district of Rajasthan among the most haunted places in the world. 

According to one of the folklore, Tantrik Singhia tried to use magic to win the heart of Princess Ratnavatil. 

The princess became aware of his evil plans and ordered him killed. Before dying, the tantrik cursed the residents of the village to die and the houses of the village to remain roofless. Even today, if a roof is built, it collapses.

There are immense number of mishaps and ultimately spooky stories told by people who live there, who have lived there or people who have visited there.

Certainly not a place you would be visiting again and again, unless you are chasing nightmares.

#6. Aradale Lunatic Asylum, Australia

The Aradale Lunatic Asylum in Victoria is the largest abandoned mental hospital. Opened in 1867, the 60-building complex housed some of the worst lunatics of the British Empire. 

Stories of the ghost of Nurse Kerry have made it a popular entry from Australia in the list of most haunted places in the world.

The ghost is believed to haunt the women’s wing. Another popular tale is of the ghost of Old Margaret, one of the many patients who were forced to leave the asylum when it was shut down in 1990s.

This Museum used to be a high school which was later turned into Security Prison and used as a base to imprison and torture prisoners. 

These prisoners were badly tortured and were further imprisoned and murdered in heinous ways. It is said that more than 17,000 people were murdered inside this building and their souls keep wandering during the night. 

One may hear dreadful sounds of people crying in pain from the museum at night. Certainly the place you would be avoiding.

Mary King’s Close used to have narrow houses and warren of interconnected side streets before the place was hit by a plague in the year 1645. 

Today, many visitors and tourists around the world come to this city where they experience supernatural scenes of an old lady standing in black attire and a little girl named Annie running around the streets. 

It is said that Annie communicates with the people who brings her gifts. Along with this, various other paranormal activities have also been reported in the city such as throwing stones and sound of footsteps.

Borgvattnet is a small village in Jämtland County, Northern Sweden. It’s renowned for having one of the most haunted houses in Sweden, The Old Vicarage, which was built in 1876.

The first ghost ever documented at the vicarage came in 1927, when the chaplain Nils Hedlund resided. He reported many strange happenings including one particular encounter with something paranormal. 

He was on his way up to the attic to gather his laundry when he witnessed his laundry being torn down from the line by an unseen force.

Rudolf Tangden, a priest who lived at the vicarage during the 1930’s, saw an old woman dressed in grey appear in a room. He followed her as she walked away, but she vanished in front of his eyes. 

In the 1940’s Tangden’s successor, Otto Lindgren, and his wife said they had several paranormal experiences including unexplained sounds and moving objects.

On one occasion a woman who was staying in the guestroom was awoken in the middle of the night to see 3 old women sitting staring at her. She quickly turned on the light and they were still looking at her, however they now appeared blurry.

In 1945 the chaplain, Erick Lindgren moved into the vicarage, and he began a journal recounting many of his own experiences in the house. He reported being thrown out of his chair regularly by an unseen force.

The current building is serving as a restaurant/cafe, as well a guest house. If you dare to stay the entire night you’ll receive an overnight-stay-certificate to prove it!

Established in 1839, the Highgate Cemetery in North London is one of the most haunted places in the world. 

The final resting place of over 1,70,000 people has been the site of many supernatural reports. But it is the tale of the 7-feet tall phantom of the Highgate Vampire with hypnotic red eyes and long black coat. 

The vampire is believed to cause sudden drop in temperature, time freeze, and more. The story of the vampire gained significant popularity when a badly charred body of a woman was found decapitated.

This asylum was originally named as Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum that was home to around 1200 patients. 

The asylum was in service from the year 1867 to 1995 and during this span of time, 9000 patients had died in this very place located in Victoria, Australia. 

It is said that it has been haunted for several years and you will experience paranormal activities as soon as you step inside the building.
